Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame tonight in New York.  He’ll be inducted along with his songwriting contemporaries Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.  Babyface came to fame writing with his production partner LA Reid in the 1980s and then seemed to take his writing to a new level when the production team disbanded in 1983.  Babyface wrote and produced all of the songs on the historical “Waiting To Exhale” soundtrack that featured Whitney Houston, Brandy, Toni Braxton and Aretha Franklin.  Long considered a writing legend in the R&B world, it’s nice to see him receiving this monumental and well deserved award.  Below are 5 songs from the “Exhale” soundtrack for your listening pleasure.  Congrats to Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.
